Booking OYO Rooms will be Much Easier Using a Micromax Phone

Micromax informatics has gone into a partnership with OYO rooms, an app-based hotel booking service provider, to offer technology-enabled hotel booking experience, particularly for Micromax customers. The technology will enable users to get selected deals using their Micromax handsets and instant updates regarding exclusive OYO offers.

Using integrated OYO rooms services and Micromax’s in-house platforms such as ‘Around-Steroid Launcher’ users can now book hotels at exclusive rates across 200 cities in India. The early check-in feature recently introduced by OYO rooms is expected to greatly improve the customer experience. Micromax and OYO will jointly work to offer a user-friendly interface with flawless booking experience and special discounted rates exclusively to Micromax users.

The agreement is expected to increase Micromax device sales in the coming months and ensure profitability at network level. OYO offers nearly 65, 000 rooms across the country and plans to expand its inventory up to threefold by end of 2016.  In Jan 2016, the company launched its first international hotel in Malaysia and is looking forward to entering Dubai and South-East Asian markets.

Recently, Micromax also went into an agreement with Visa to develop “mVisa”, which is Visa’s OR code-based payment technology available on Micromax devices accessible through Udio app. Micromax tied up with Transery in order to integrate all Micromax phones with Udio in 2015. Micromax has also launched its canvas edition of smart Led TVs preinstalled with Android OS.

The company further planes to start its operations in China by the first half of 2017 and increase its market capacity through going public or with the help of private investors. This may be seen as a counter measure to lift up the company’s which has witnessed a dip in market performance in recent times.

In April 2016, Micromax inaugurated its Telangana manufacturing unite, which is fully functional and is setup to manufacture all its consumer electronic goods including LED TVs and mobile phones. The company further plans to setup three more manufacturing plants in India estimated to cost a total of INR 300 crore.
