Famous BMX biker and MTV’s “Challenge” reality competition’s host TJ Lavin is in a critical condition due to a failed attempt at a stunt. Lavin’s bike crashed on Thursday night while performing at the Dew Tour Event in Las Vegas.

An MTV spokesperson extended his prayers to TJ Lavin:

“Our thoughts are with TJ. He is an important part of MTV’s extended family and we’re all praying for him.”

It was during the second set of the dirt bike ride that TJ Lavin lost control of his bike while trying to pull a stunt. Lavin’s feet did not reach the bike’s pedals, resulting in him being thrown off the bike. He was unconscious due to the impact when he landed. The crash stirred in his friends and crew to surround him and be at his side, but TJ Lavin lay motionless on the ground.

Lavin was rushed to a nearby University Medical Center where the doctors induced him medically into a coma to decrease the swelling they found in the brain. Along with the swelling, they reported injuries on his body, a shattered wrist and broken ribs.

The reality TV show host, who belongs to Las Vegas, is a top competitor in the BMX community. TJ Lavin has won one silver and two gold medals in the X Games as well. Such accomplishments led him to become MTV’s “Challenge” host. He is still a prime competitor in the Dew Tour Circuit for BMX bike riding.

No other reports about TJ Lavin’s condition have been released yet.
